Different types of momos in Darjeeling

So, when I sit down to write another blog about Darjeeling, how can I ever help myself from writing about the ever favourite dish of the her citizens – momo.

Originally believed to have it’s origins in the valleys of Kathmandu, Nepal, it seems to have traveled all the way to Darjeeling along with Newari merchants. But Darjeeling people have a habit of mixing things up and modifying them to meet their tastes. Hence, when you eat momos in Darjeeling, you will experience a totally different flavour.

Let me just list the different kinds of momos found in the Queen of Hills.

  1. Steamed Momos : Steamed momos are simple and could be vegetarian as well as non vegetarian depending on the filling.
